Graham Hancock: The War on Consciousness

Graham Hancock

In April 2011 I atttended a lecture at the Bloomsbury Baptist Church in Holborn London by Graham Hancock intriguingly titled ‘ Elves, Aliens, Angels, and Parallel Realms’. In his talk, Graham outlined the significance of altered states of consciousness from a broad cross cultural historical perspective, then freely and fearlessly articulated the many issues and concerns about ‘The War on Drugs’, and that effectively it is ‘The War on Consciousness’. It was an impressive and well researched lecture.  Rather than summarise this I have included an article by Graham titled ‘The War on Consciousness’ (Courtesy of ‘You Are Still Being Lied to’) which states his view on this crucial matter. Personally I see this ‘war’ as concerted action by the global institutional forces to control humanity by keeping us in a material state of consciousness.

I had contact with Graham whilst working on the book ‘The Ayahuasca Visions of Pablo Amaringo’, in which Graham (although he was extremely busy at the time) provided a valuable and insightful foreword contribution to the book titled ‘A Special State of Consciousness’,  which Peter and I really appreciated.

Graham Hancock is the author of the major international bestsellers The Sign and The Seal, Fingerprints of the Gods, and Heaven’s Mirror. He has become recognised as an unconventional thinker who raises controversial questions about humanity’s past. This interview shows that he also has controversial questions about humanity’s present and future.

In this frank testimony Graham calls for the legalisation for all drugs.  He also queries whether we can call ourselves a free society when we have such regressive policies regarding altering our own consciousnesses, talks about the hidden dangers of the War on Drugs and shares his own experiences with the visionary shamanic plant ayahuasca.

Australian Government considering banning hundreds of plants – Insane but true!

Acacia pycnantha - Australia's national flower on a postage stamp

Strewth and tie me kangaroo down sport – In a novel way to expand the ‘War on Drugs‘ the Australian Government according to this report in the NewAmerican.com website, is looking to outlaw hundreds and possibly thousands of plant species that contain (even in microscopic quantities) chemicals such as DMT. Even the national flower (Acacia pycnantha)  a symbol of Australia itself is threatened by this ban, and the list goes on and on and on.

Of course an irony in this, is that DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) is also found in the brains of mammals and humans. So the next step is to ban mammals and er…humans!

To quote Terence McKenna from ‘Food of the Gods’; “We can begin the restructuring of thought by declaring legitimate what we have denied for so long. Lets us declare Nature to be legitimate. The notion of illegal plants is obnoxious and ridiculous in the first place.”  Amen to that!
