Ayahuasca Visions | Patiquina Samai by Pablo Amaringo

Patiquina Samai (The breath of the Patiquinas) by Pablo Amaringo

Patiquina Samai by Pablo AmaringoThe patiquina (Dieffenbachia sp) is widely used in Peru in banos florales (floral baths) for counteracting brujeria and attracting positive energy. The four varieties of patiquina seen here are verde, blanco, negro and pintado (green, white, black and mottled), each with its own spirit or guardian which you can see beside each of the plants.

The Patiquina verde in the top right for example, is used to represent the lungs; the essence of a person’s being. The different shades of green, extending from the edge of the leaf to its centre indicates here that the state of the lungs is good.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 110,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Ayahuasca Visions | Pagoda Dorada by Pablo Amaringo

Pagoda Dorada by Pablo Amaringo

Pagoda Dorada by Pablo Amaringo At the upper left of the picture is the huairamama (the Mother of the sky), who has dominion of the atmosphere. She moves like a whirlwind and creates storms; her rain fertilises the rainforest and makes the plants flourish. At the lower left is the sachamama (Mother of the forest), who manifests the vital force of the earth and preserves the rainforest. The Pagoda Dorada is an occult temple which no one sees, like the soul of a person. Inside is perfect harmony, it is the optimal place for life to function. If the distance between the Earth and Sun were any different, life on Earth would not be possible.

Ayahuasca Visions | Transformacion del Chamán en Aguila by Pablo Amaringo

Transformacion del Chamán en Aguila  by Pablo Amaringo

Transformacion del chaman en aguila by Pablo Amaringo The transformation of the shaman into an Eagle. The shaman transforms himself into an eagle and flies away to bring back esoteric knowledge to his people. When a shaman transforms himself into kinetic energy and merges with the universe, he can see the past, present and future as if it were all one eternal moment.Above are two celestial guardians bearing swords. These guardians are known as tronos (thrones). They bestow the powers of transformation on the shaman who must master his fear. The soaring of the eagle represents the potential that we humans have to ascend to personal mastery and wisdom..

Ayahuasca Visions | A’tun Supay Lancha by Pablo Amaringo

A’tun Supay Lancha (Lancha Fantasma) by Pablo Amaringo

A'tun Supay Lancha by Pablo AmaringoThe shamans in front sing the icaro of the lancha fantasma and strong visionary effects soon starts to take hold on them all. Hidden places in the earth open up and spirits arise from caves to celebrate the arrival of the Great Phantom Ship with circle dances.

You can sense the exhilaration and ecstasy of the vision – dryads and nymphs work while animal spirits dance to help the plants to flourish. On the decks are warriors, sylphs, musicians, revered gurus from India, and the great teachers from ancient China. The ship here represents the huairamama (Mother of the air), or cosmic serpent: the manifestation of the cosmic vibration which creates all matter.

Ayahuasca Visions | Unicornio Dorado by Pablo Amaringo

Unicornio Dorado (The Golden Unicorn) by Pablo Amaringo

Unicornio Dorado by Pablo AmaringoHere we can see two ceremonies, one on each side of the picture. The ceremony on the left is with indigenous and mestizo people (of mixed ancestry), and on the right there are highly educated, cultivated people, scholars and priests.

The huaccras or horns, seen left and right, represent the different paths of evolution and knowledge. The huaccra on the left shows the path of the native traditions while the right one indicates the path of modern civilisation. Those that follow the path of indigenous people arrive more quickly at the sacred temple.

Pablo Amaringo | Los Loros

Pablo Amaringo : Los Loros Jigsaw PuzzleA celebration of the beauty and harmony of the Amazon’s flora and
fauna, Los Loros (The Parrots) is the work of Peruvian painter Pablo
Amaringo (1938–2009). Recognized as one of the world’s great
visionary artists, Amaringo was renowned for his intricate, colorful
paintings inspired by shamanic visions. Entirely self-taught, he
painted Amazonian landscapes with meticulous botanical precision.

Pablo Amaringo : Los Loros Jigsaw PuzzleIn 1988 Amaringo co-founded the Usko-Ayar Amazonian
School of Painting in Pucallpa, Peru, whose students, aged eight to
twenty-four, are educated free of cost. The school—dedicated to
documenting the flora, fauna, and culture of the Amazon and inspiring
people everywhere to revere and care for the living Earth—originated
